The true teacher does not evangelize nor proselytize, but instead is like a rock in the middle of the road - there to be picked up by the aware and the seeking, and scoured for any wisdom that they may contain. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and likewise, wisdom is in the heart of the seeker.

History in and of itself is not ego
History in and of itself is not ego - it is YOU. You are an accumulation of experiences and those experiences are ever present in YOU.
To objectify a past event and give it power is ego. To make a past event a concept instead of a living tool is ego. Concepts without present, living energy are the beginnings of patterned behavior. Patterns void of awareness become traps.
